What to expect from Carpet Docs:

First we will inspect the manufacturer’s label for proper cleaning instructions and upholstery specifications.

We will inspect your furniture for potentially permanent stains or damage.

To start proper cleaning will first vacuum the furniture, and then pre-treat potential stains.

  • There are many different furniture fabrics and each type requires a particular method for cleaning success.  While many fabrics can be steam cleaned, others will require a more specialized process.

  • Our Furniture Technicians will evaluate your furniture fabric needs and use a safe, proven system to make your fabrics like new again.  We have several systems at our disposal including steam cleaning, dry foam extraction, low-moisture encapsulation and a combination of these methods.

Our preferred cleaning system is a low-moisture encapsulation cleaning with eco-friendly system to insure that your upholstery is clean and never over wet.  We may use high velocity fans to help reduce the dry-time; in most cases the furniture will be dry in 2 hours.

Carpet Docs is IICRC certified.  When we are completely satisfied with our cleaning process, we will then discuss regular upholstery care and invite you to inspect our work and answer any questions you may have.

Carpet Docs will ensure that the upholstery in your home receives the care and maintenance it deserves.  Remember, upholstered furniture cleaning helps preserve your investment and is a big part of a health environment.  You will be pleased to see the fresh, crisp, clean look return to your furniture.

Plus a good application of our fine Fabric Protector will ensure that your fabrics stay clean for a long time. If you ever have any questions please feel free to contact us.

Regular care of your furniture fabrics is necessary for you to get the most enjoyment and longevity from your investment.  New furniture can generally require a thorough cleaning after 1 to 2 years of use, depending on the location in your home. Family room furniture may be used more heavily and you may want to clean it at least annually.

Helpful hints increase the longevity of your upholstered furniture.

Wipe up any spills as soon as they occur.

Vacuum or brush your upholstery every two weeks. This prevents dirt from building up between the fibers of the fabric, and will extend the life of your upholstery.

Turn your cushions once a month so that they will retain their shape and wear evenly.

If you have animals get yourself a rubber dish glove. Simply put it on and rub your hand over the fabric.  The dish glove will make it easy to remove hair from the furniture.  You will see that the hair bunch up into clumps making it easy to pick up or vacuum up.

Try and keep your upholstered furniture out of direct sunlight; the ultraviolet rays of the sun can fade the colors of your furniture and cause the fabric to deteriorate prematurely.

Have your upholstered furniture professionally cleaned every six months to a year.
